The Silver Jubilee building of Sri Laxmanananda Multipurpose Cooperative Society was inaugurated at Morgans Gate on April 2, 2023. Sri Laxmanananda Multipurpose Cooperative Society’s mission is to provide financial support to those in need. Beyond offering loans, it empowers thousands of small business owners to achieve self-sufficiency, especially street vendors, vegetable vendors, and auto drivers. Over 2,500 auto-rickshaw drivers have received support from society, accompanied by guidance for professional growth.

The society is actively involved in social service initiatives, including free eye check-up camps, blood donation drives, and assistance for members’ children’s education and other institutions. Headquartered at Morgan’s Gate, it has branches in Hampankatta, Kavur, Katiplla-Kaikamba, and Ullala.

The Silver Jubilee celebration, held under the guidance of President Shri J. Krishna Palemar, was attended by dignitaries, including SCDCC Bank president M.N. Rajendra Kumar and Nitte (Deemed to be University) Pro-Chancellor Shantharama Shetty. Dr. Shantharam Shetty praised the society’s achievements.

Dr. Shantharam Shetty said the Society has served the Rama Kshatriya community exceptionally well. Its achievements of transacting over ₹400 crore business in the last financial year, extending loans to people from weaker sections of society including autorickshaw drivers, street vendors, etc., was worth emulating, he said. As his individual contribution, Dr. Shetty gave a cheque of ₹5 lakh to the Society.
